i am getting this error when trying to run an analyis
***ERROR: VALUE FOR PARAMETER NSET CANNOT BE MORETHAN 80 CHARACTERS
does anyone know how to solve this?

What have you called the NSET? The coding for the software would have this parameter set to allow no more than 80 characters.

I have done nothing .. what's the NSET? .. I was just a simulation and i am getting this error when trying to run

NSET is set of nodes you define, but it sounds like you haven't assigned nodes to any set. I am not sure then why you are getting this error message?

Maybe you could post your cae/input file for us to take a look?

Open .inp in a text editor (I usually use the CONTEXT EDITOR with ABAQUS HIGHLIGHTER).

Then go to FIND.

Type NSET

Check whatever is after the '=' symbol

Proably it's too long, so you'll have to rename it to a smaller name, and then change all references to the older name to the new one.
