Hi SW users.
I´m new to this section of Eng-Tips, only visit the ProE part before. After ten years with ProE, I´ve now switch over to SW and have a question regarding variables in equations.
Is it possible to use variables, and where should I put them?

Equations - Variable in an Equation
How to Create a Variable in an Equation
• Start a new part, sketch, draw a line and dimension it.
• Create new equation, and select Add.
• Make this equation first: ("D1@Sketch1" = "D1@Sketch1"+1). Select OK.
• Select Edit All.
• Add this line (before the previous equation): MYVAR=1.
• Change your original equation to this: ("D1@Sketch1" = "D1@Sketch1"+MYVAR).
• Select OK, OK.
It should look like this:
MYVAR=1
"D1@Sketch1"="D1@Sketch1"+MYVAR

variables in equations; they are indeed now supported in sw2005. but i've you want to use them in previous versions you can only create them using the edit all button in the equations manager.
btw; I was at sw-user-day in holland lately and they told me using variables in equation was acompletely new function and I thought hmmm, I've been using variables for quite a while now... But I have one following quastion: Are you able to steer the variables in a designtable in sw2005??
