I am working in a 35MW gas engine based power plant. I am in confusion whether the vector group of 40MVA, 11/33KV step-up transformer of the power plant should be Ynd1 or Ynd11. Is there any effect of this vector group on the performance of the generator sets? All the distribution transformers connected to the 33KV system are of vector group Dyn11.It will be highly appreciated if anybody extends his valuable suggestion. Thanks to all for giving attention.

There is no technical difference between the Yd1 or the Yd11 in terms of performance. The only factor affecting the choice between one or the other is system phasing, ie whether parts of the network fed from the transformer need to operate in parallel with another source. If you can submit a single line diagram you will get a definitive answer.

sob123,

It also matters if you have an auxiliary tranformer connected to generator terminals. Vector matching at the auxiliary busbars for unit auxiliary and station auxiliary supplies is an important factor to be considered in selecting the right vector group for GSUT.
