I want to build a production chassis for an on/off highway vehicle preferably using a c section rail as seen on trucks rather than a fabricated one. I want to use 6mm plate as weight is a benefit as well as rigidity. the chassis rails would be 2500mm long x 200mm deep with a 50mm return. any suggestion how I might do this or who can.

I think you need to define what you mean a lot better, but any number of truck companies can build you a ladder frame.

200 deep is very deep for a 2500 long frame. The stiffness will be lousy compared with a box section.

Hi Greg thanks for that, the reason for the deep section is in part to do with mounting of agricultural attachments and applies to the center section the chassis tapering front and rear for the axle and suspension location. Here in the UK there are very few independant truck builders left and as far as I can find out most get their chassis frames from europe. That being the case I have been looking at all my options before I may well have to return to a fabricated section.

Roger,

I was going to direct you to MultiDrive in Thirsk, but they appear to be no more. Their website was Disappointing.
