I'm working on the hvac design for a new doctor's office. Does anybody know where to find minimum ventilation rates for exam rooms, treatment rooms, x-ray rooms, labs, etc? I don't think ASHRAE 62.1 covers this area.

62.1 has a small table in the appendix. Applications handbook is more into hospitals and labs, eaxamination and treatment rooms etc

Take the "V" out of HVAC and you are left with a HAC(k) job.

I just completed an HVAC design for a rural healthcare facility. In the absence of state codes and specific guidelines in 62.1, I used the Health Care Facilities guidance (ch. 7) in the 2007 ASHRAE Applications Handbook.

62.1 provided for baseline OA rates, but ASHRAE Applications, Ch. 7, provided total ACH and min. OA ACH for specific spaces. It also listed pressure relationships for the various room types.

Hope this helps.

Does a normal doctor's office require anything special over say a typical office? Unless something out of the ordinary is done I would not have thought so?
