Hello;

My pressure vessel consists of 2 dished ends and a cylindrical shell.
I want the legs welded similar to the picture in the link (left one):

The legs are welded to the reinforcing plate that is welded to the cylindrical shell.
Does EN 13445 have a specific way of calculating reinforcing pads for vertical legs welded on the cylindrical shell? Or should i just calculate the reinforcing pads like in chapter 16.10 vertical vessels on bracket supports with reinforcing plates;
I'm not using any software for calculation.

I looked at all of it and couldn't find anything about it and searched on the web, so i'm asking here for help.
Thank you in advance for any kind of help/advice.

Best regards.

Hello, there are a few conditions about having reinforcing pads for legs as well as for brackets ( having the same thickness as shell,minimum height, minimum with ) . I don't remember however about a formula to give minimum required thickness of the reinforcing pads (neither in EN nor in ASME ).
