Hi,

A colleague of mine is designing a pressure vessel and came across the following design concern: He needs to model a support for a load of 60kN and needs to design a vessel clip/cleat for attachment.

So the question is this, is there any standard or software pertaining to this issue (he needs to design the cleat)? He already tried modelling it on PVElite as a vessel clip but ran into some issues there.

Perhaps PIP VEFV 1120 may be of use for this? And you have checked any of the standard references like Megyesy etc.?

Is your colleague interested in the clip itself, attachment to the vessel, or both?

Forget PVE, just use the Codecalc portion to design the clip itself, and attachment to the shell per WRC 107.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Thank for the input guys, I will pass the message on to him.

SnTMan- he is interested in both.

Much appreciated
