vessell over 3000 psi

Hi guys, i'm design a pressure vessel over 3000 psi, but i dont know... if i can combined div 1 and div 2..

because i calculated the thickness with div 1, but it's so higher..

You need to choose which Code will be your Code of Construction. In almost all cases, Division 1 will result in a thicker and heavier vessel - primarily because the design margin against UTS is different in the two Divisions.

The additional engineering and inspection requirements in Division 2 are there for a reason - because failure in a vessel that operates at 3000 psi will likely kill someone, as well as cause hundreds of millions of dollars of direct damage as well as significant amounts of consequential damage.

I understand.. so i choose one code for my desging.. but nozzle? welding? structure of the vessel i mean skirt, legs?
 
Once you have chosen your Code of Construction, then everything in the design, nozzles, welding, supports, inspection, testing, etc would be done according to that Code. With the exception provided in Code Case 2695 and/or U-2(g), you are not permitted to jump back and forth between the two Divisions.
