Hi gents,
I am using the Indian seismic standard IS 1893, to specify the design conditions for a number of vessels operating in a gas plant. I found very confusing, the categorization of the vessels, particularly the definition of vessel failure. I am tempted to put every vessel in category 1, knowing the consequences of vessel failure in a gas plant..However, the IS 1893 appears to include in category 1 only the vessels which would affect the population beyond the plant boundary line. Could anyone shed some light on this classification, given my limited experience with this code.
Cheers,
