On bigger pumps, I always make the vendor supply installation (grouting and flange stress data) and then have the acceptance test for vibration in the field.
 
I have a feeling the vendor wants nothing to do with this pump once it goes FOB. I already proposed such a clause to them, and they have balked.

I can't blindly take whatever limit the manufacturer proposes but at the same time I have to realize its going to be dampened in the field. There must be some empirical formula to correlate test bench to in-situ vibration.

Not that it means anything but they think I'm a moron for questioning this......help me out here so I can give them some come-uppin's.
