I inserted an excel object from a file into a drawing. I always seem to have a problem showing the columns that I want it to display. I have tried editing the excel table with the worksheet, and resetting the print area. I have right clicked on the table and tried reset size. Has anyone had this problem? I am running SW 2004 with service pack 3.0 this also happened in service pack 2.1. Please Help.

Thanks

Kim

Sounds like you hit the OLE Limitation - See this problem in SW KBA (Knowledge Base Articles) - All you can do is make your Text smaller and your Column thinner.

FYI - This isn't a SW issue it's Microsoft issue.

Even if I am only trying to show 4 columns?

Do I need an EMOTICON to fit in around here?

How large are the columns and how big is the text?

I'm running SP3.0 of SW04 and I'm showing 7 columns in my embedded Excel spreadsheet in my Drawing. So I don't see a problem here and there isn't an option that I'm aware of that would keep this from happening if your columns are small as well as you text.

No, you don't need an emoticon ... but a good sense of humour really helps [bigsmile]

Re-set your font size, then re-size your table in SW. It worked for me.

My font is 10 pt arial font. Column widths are, 25.43,5.29,100.433,12.86 pt.

My video card is an NVIDIA QUADRO 4 750 XGL 128 MB I checked the SW website and its driver version is current. When you double click on your table in the drawing, are you editing the table within SW instead of launching Excel? If I double click on the table I am launching Excel, reguardless of what the custom menu says.

I'm using a Quadro 500FX with the latest drivers. Which are supported by SW - 53.03

When you double click the table you are launching Excel with SW. You shouldn't be launching Excel in a separate window. If you are using a DT (Part, assembly) you get the option of editting it in a window or in a separate window.

....but if you WANT an emoticon (or a smiley, heh, heh) there's plenty to be had right underneath the reply box....

Ran some tests and I can't duplicate your problem either (SW2004-SP3/Excel 2000).

Dbl click on the excel spreadsheet in SW, then drag the corners until you see the spreadsheet as you like. Then click outside of the spreadsheet.
