Viewing/Editing History of nx prt file?

Hello there
I had created a nx 6 assembly and parts last year and would like to view the history and change/update it to being created this year without having to redo all the parts and assembly.
Is there any way of doing so for the prt files?
Is there a program to do this or can this be done in nx

Open the part file (either an Assembly or a Detail part) of interest in NX and then go to...

Information -> Part -> Modifications...

...where you will get a complete history of all of the save dates as well as who saved the file and on what system. There will also be a list of edits/modifications made to the file with a references to the relevant 'file save' record. Sometimes the information displayed may appear a bit cryptic but it does try to indicate the types of edits/modifications made and if it were parametric changes those are recorded. It also will show when and who made the changes by looking back at the referenced 'file save' record.

Firstly Thanks JohnRBaker for your prompt reply

By going to Information -> Part -> Modifications...
I am only able to view the part history, But I am unable to edit/delete info from there

So how would I be able to clear the part modification history without changing any of the parameters. I would like it to not show that it was created last year. How can this be done?

I just want it to show that it was created this year.. is there a way by exporting it to a new file/copying only the geometry .... rather than working on the whole assembly or part from scratch. If so what is the procedure?

There is no function which will REMOVE the Part history, and this is by design. However, there is a loophole. Open the Part file that you wish to expunge the history from. Now go to...

File -> Export -> Part...

...and select the 'Part Specification' option of 'New' and then select the 'Specify Part' button and enter a new part file name (do NOT use the 'Existing' option for this particular task). Now select the 'Class Selection' button and choose the 'Select All' option and hit OK. The rest of the settings, except for the 'Remove Parameters' option which you would of course NOT select, will probably have little or no effect if your part is not an Assembly nor are there any WAVE links in it. Now just hit OK and then open your newly created Part file and note that the ONLY 'history' will be a single entry for TODAY.

But I am not able to do it for a whole assembly. For a whole assembly how would I do it?

You'll have to do it one file at a time. And don't suggest that we enhance this since I did warn you that it was a 'loophole' and we should probably not make too big a deal about what you may perceive as a weakness, which someone else may see as a bug and fix it (and I DON'T mean in a way you want it, but rather so that it does NOT remove the history).

I worded it that way as the 'museum' has not been updated for a few years. Perhaps one of these days I'll resume my 'duties' and add the additional material which I've continued to receive from others who have also been collecting stuff.
