hi,
I'm running 2002, and I have a problem when I rotate my viewports in paper space.

If I'm in a layout, and I rotate a viewport say, 90 degrees, if I later take the same viewport and try to return it to normal by rotating it negative 90 degrees, it instead goes 180 degrees. If I then rotate same viewport 45 degrees, it works as expected, but if I rotate it another 45 degrees, instead it rotates 180 relative to the last move.

any subsequent newly created viewport also come in at this rotation, locked into the same problem. very frustrating...
any insight into what's happening?

I apprectiate any help

p.s.

on further experimentation, I'm able to rotate views as I need by specifying points in the viewport. I guess the problem only occurs when I use the command line.

Check your UCSFOLLOW variable for each viewport. Set it to zero once you like it so it won't rotate with the others.

You are using the command like "UCS X 45" to rotate about the x-axis 45 degrees? Check your units to make sure you are in degrees!! DDUNITS

Hi sundemeon,

how do You work? - "mvsetup"?- -> the degrees are relative to the wcs (o°), not to the current ucs.

thanks Exxit, after i posted i realized that the mvsetup/ command line method in paper space was giving absolute results, as opposed to relative.

IFRS, thanks also, can't know enough system variables, that info will be helpful.

thanks for the replys.
