Is anyone familuar with the Seelye reference book?
I see one one Ebay; is it a worthwhile reference for assessing old structures?

I have Volume 1. I think it is one great structural engineering book. It contains many older data, tables and touches almost on every aspect of structural engineering. I enjoy flipping its pages. Most of the text is hand written with many tables and charts.

My wife bought mine in a garage sale for $0.25!!

I also have a copy of it and I treat it like a masterpiece because you will never find that kind of excellence in a reference these days. The allowable stresses do not meet today's codes but the statics and analysis is timeless.

If you can find it, grab at.
