Dear all,

I'm simulating a crankshaft with a constant rotational velocity and a varying load with Dynamic/Explicit. Although I have written a predefined field with the rotational velocity, in the module visualization, the crankshaft doesn't rotate, even though it appears the stress field of the inertial rotational forces. Can anybody say me how could I get the crankshaft rotating in this module, or it is not possible for this kind of analysis?

Many thanks in advance.

With a predefined field you don't carry over the displacements and hence you can only produce contours of the field variable on a static model. In the original step you should be able to see the shaft rotate, providing of course the displacements were stored in the step.

Corus, first of all, thank you for your answer, but I'm not convinced at all with your reasoning. Why if I just suppress the BCs (which are of displacement, simulating the ball bearing), the crankshaft rotates (although only 40º approximately) in the visualization? I guess it is related with these BCs, which I don't define in the proper Step (at Initial or at Dyn/Expl?) or something like that.
