Good day!

We are operating a small distribution network and during operations we wish to be able to identify at switchgear live feeds/legs. We have old unintelligent switchgear with no capacitive test points on them.

I know there is no contact-less tester for armoured cables (how i wish), but is there be small accessory we could add on RMUs / switchgear to provide a capacitive test point / led?

Perhaps a capacitive test point unit we could wire onto the switchgear with as little modification as possible?

Thanks!

I do not know of a product specifically, but many dead front elbows have capacitive test points built in. Perhaps speaking with the OEM of these may provide a solution.

Thanks I followed up and "googled" the elbow type pieces, but this would require opening the cable box each time to test, Im looking to apply this for field operators doing switching.

Something like a capacitive sensor that could be installed on the cable box (by drilling a hole for it) and a short lead cable to the termination?
