I have a drawing with the tolerance block stating +/-1/64" VOSP I am not sure what the letters stand for. Is this part of a standard? Thanks in advance.

It's not in ASME Y14.5M-1994 that I'm aware of.

Of course, neither is fractional dimensioning, so I'm not sure looking to the standards will give you an answer, unless it was in an older one.

I'd try and ask whoever gave you the drawing if possible.

Otherwise, assuming you've already googled VOSP ( for instance) then I'd start guessing acronyms, which is dangerous. "Variation of Surface Profile" for instance.

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)

The winner is... well, the customer is not completely sure either. Neither of us has been in the business since 1983 so caseynick gets the nod on this one.

Dtuck,

This illustrates the importance of not using obscure acronyms on drawings, or anywhere else.

Are you sure the acronym is in English?
