I am taking Structural II and Structural III in WA this fall. I tried the SEAW website and found refreshment courses but there is no information on the exam format anywhere. I am in MO and there are not many people around who took the WA exams. Can anybody advise?

Igrkn,

I just stumbled on this thread. I too am from MO and just took the SEIII exam. What did you think? I signed up last minute and didn't study much....had some time issues w/ the first portion.

I took it because I am actually on the NCEES structural exam committee and won't be able to take the new exam. I too am curious to see what pass rate then new exam will be (I have pretested it).

Feel free to contact me if you ever have questions regarding licensure, requirements, NCEES published policies, and planned state specific requirements.

cldea8,
I took the SE III this go around as well and thought the first half asked a lot for the given time. I found myself providing an explanation of what I would do instead of actually doing it for the last part of problem 2.

The afternoon session wasn't too bad. I actually finished up with about 30 minutes left.

Do you have an idea of how long we'll have to wait to find out the results?

WA says that the results typcially go out about 17 weeks after the exam.

I agree, the morning was pretty rushed. I found that documenting all of my code references ate up way to much writing time.

Hey TTUengr51, did you get your certificate from Illinois? I did. Thing is kind of small.....this can't be our wall certificate. I was expecting a big ol' monster to frame.

If I remember correctly, you need to request (and purchase) the wall certificate.

They offered the large wall certificates about 20 years ago and you had to pay (like $10) for them. For as much as it costs and the difficulty of getting the license, you would think they would come up with a better certificate than a Manicurist (nothing against them) gets.
I'm not sure if its a regular option now.

3doorsdwn,
Below is the response I got from Illinois today.

To request a Wall Certificate, submit a written request with the fee of $15 to the Department. Your request should include your name, license number, social security number and current address. Send the request and fee to the following:

Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
Division of Professional Regulation
3rd Floor/Licensure Maintenance Unit
320 West Washington St.
Springfield, IL 62786

Wall certificates are batch printed, and are only printed when we have sufficient amounts to print. Therefore, your wall certificate may take some time to be printed.
