Hi.
I have always seen compressors intake after the air filter and before turbocharger.
But in these new Cummins BGE5-200 engines, compressor intake is after the aftercooler. (and, obviously after the turbo).
So this new compressors are "turbocharged".
What's the technical reasons?
The only reasons I have in mind, is that the compressor would be smaller. And the air flow would be greater.
How does it affect the air which is being sucked by the cylinders?
Thanks.
