We keep getting these nasty spikes, what basic parameters should we be tweaking? it happens on all 4 sides, but two adjacent sides more often than the other two sides. we have been playing with feedrate, gas pressure, nozzle height, focus etc.

Looks to me like too much o2 or too high duty. was getting same on thinner material...dropping both fixed my problem......

I saw the pictures.I didn't thought it was inside the materiel. Thought it was pike like dross under the piece. We never had that before so would like to know what can cause that. What is the oxygene pressure ? Maybe it is the materiel himself.

This could be caused by a lot of things. But it is most likely due to too much heat in the material. Lowering the gas pressure and/or power should help. Maybe use a smaller nozzle (less oxygen flow).
Could also be a bad cutting lens.

Well I'll keep that in mind. We are having an issue with mild steel .250 so I was curious.
