Is there a quick estimate on how to get the tons/sq.meter for a walk-in cold storage room?

Any comments will be highly appreciated!

Thanks,

No, as far as I am concerned. It depends upon primarily 5 factors.

1. Wall heat gain
2. Infiltration
3. Product load
4. People load, and
5. Equipment and miscellaneous loads

The following details will give us better understanding to do a load estimate.

1. Dimensions of cold room
2. Ambient and internal conditions
3. Product quantity and product details

There is an excellant discussion about cold storages in Principles of Refrigeration by Roy J Dossat.

Great link RACandH! I had been to the keeprite webpage couple of times but didn't find the cold room link. Thanks a lot.

I ran some quick numbers and it seems to be in good agreement with the procedures I follow. There seems to be a bit problem with infiltration load. Anyhow I will check it fully.

Thanks again.
