have an assembly displayed in Shaded with edges mode.
I'd like SOME parts to be shaded WITHOUT edges.

I seem to be able to do one or the other.

How do you do a combo of both display types in one assembly?

2006 Display States may allow this now.

SW2006 Display States can definitely show Shaded with edges & Wireframe simultaneously ... not sure about the others though.

Ahhh good point... forgot about the Display states. Then I have to retract my first answer, because I just tested this and it does allow you to change between the different states per part.

SW2006: Right-click the part or assembly in the tree > Component Display. Mix and match as you please.

Work place has not decided to make jump to 2006 yet so for now I'm stuck with 2005.

Is there any way with 2005 to at least vary the edge colors per part within an assembly. If I could make the edges on some parts not-black while leaving others black, that might be good enough for me.

Possible?

What's wrong with just colouring the parts?
Maybe if you explain what you are actually trying to achieve, we may be able to offer a solution.
