hi, new here, now my background in metals was mostly in the aluminum and steel sector...heat treating, and manufacturing...but i do not really know much about zamak...
recently i picked up a project that is a bit unusual...
to finish it, i may have to build up the surface of a zamak part...it is not a repair, and casting a replacement is out of the question...
what would happen if i pour molten zamak into or on to a clean zamak surface? would it bond with the zamak that is cold? could it be brazed on like alumiweld? im talking about a work piece and molten zamak of the same identical composition being used to backfill or build up a surface...
any zamak gurus available?
