Gents,

I am currently looking at the possibility of replacing our WI PL with something completely different. This will be a big project and I am thinking of going for a plastic lined pipeline system

Is there any integrity issues that anyone can think of that should be considered for WI pipelines?

Since there are not much parametars that you have provided for us, I guess that phusical characteristics (pressure, temperature)of plastic pipes are OK.
Anyhow, I disagree with your choice because of possibilities of mechanical damage of the pipes, repairing procedure is more complicated, and bigger thermal deviation of the pipes.

Emanoelman,

Thanks for the response, this is pipeline with direct connection to the well. There's always the possibility of vacuum from the well and pressures up to about 150barg.

I do understand your point on onorous repairs procedures and thermal deviation which I think are rightly identified issues.

The other issues is with the creation of an annulus which raises complications of build up of annulus pressure etc which needs continuous bleeding if this issue surfaces.

I have not given any real parameters as I just wanted to improve my knowledge on the subject and be given general suggestions and areas to research on (as you've done). I was cautious of the fact that giving too much information might reduce the level of info i get back from people.
