we want to waterproof a concrete slab, which is a part of diving platform. what kind of sealer is good?

the concrere slab is about 20 years old and there are only hairline cracks (from shrinkage in my opinion). Nothing else will be applied on the top of sealer so the surface should not be slippery after the application of sealer.

any suggestions?

It will be difficult to not have a slippery surface with almost any concrete sealer. I would definitely stay away from the Silane/Siloxane sealers...they will be slippery and will not hold aggregate for slip resistance.

You might consider a penetrating methyl methacrylate (MMA) such as Sika Pronto 19. This material can be used as a penetrating sealer and you can put fine aggregate in a pour coat after the penetrating coat to provide some slip resistance.

I have to ask, why are you wanting to waterproof the slab in the first place? Are you having chloride ingress issues? Or just mold problems?

Why not uuse an epoxy paint with sand or gypsum added?

They make sand just for this application. It can be mixed directly into the sealer or broadcast prior to the sealer drying. We used it with a clear sealer in a fire station last year. The floor is not slippery even when wet.

Epoxy with sand or other fillers would be a good sealant. If the cracks have any movement use fiberglass cloth in the epoxy to bridge the cracks and cover the slab.

One cannot just grab a can of epoxy paint throw in some grit and paint. I would say that about 80% of epoxy paint twill chalk rather quickly when exposed to UV light without a top coat.
There are a lot of non-skid products for use outdoors like the carrier deck materials. The only problem being the expense and some with speciality application.
If there is any size to the cracks patching needs considered. there's a lot material for this that will work only if you get one formulated for the application.
