Way to suppress elements to for analysis?

Dumb Femap question of the week:
I'm working on my analysis of a valve in a length of piping. I need to analyze two cases. In the first case, the valve is supported by hangers. In the second case the valve is supported by the pipe. I'd like to keep both results sets in the same file.
So, is there a way to "suppress" the beam elements I'm using as hangers so I can re-run the analysis for an unsupported case? So far all I can do is delete them, which works but isn't helpful for making small tweaks to the model.

Hi cmcbain,

create a group with all the elements and a group without the beam elements and in the NASTRAN Bulk Data Options (when you set up the analysis) pick the right group in the menu "Portion of Model to Write"

If you are doing it for a large model, i suggest you name a grup "run group" and add all the elements. This would help you remove unwanted elements easily without chaning your original groups.

another brute force way is to have two models, and to import result files.
