Could you possibly mean A217 WC9? as far as I know WC7 does not exist

I am not a mechanical pig-iron type person. Still, recall that older globe valve models included WCB as a standard procuct for carbon steel castings; where WCC seems to be the modern standard for carbon steel these days. Seems like WB6 and WB9 were upgrades - now available as WC6 and WC9. Short search reflects no WB9. ASTM A 217 addresses pressure -containing stuff for high-temp applications. As WC6 and WC9 reflect increasing molding and process temperatures etc. the composition differences reflect some a bit in carbon difference, manganese, chromim and molybdenum; and different preheat temps.

Perhaps poke around the UNS numbers you find stuff not reflected in current ASTM or ASME standards. Perhaps the pig-irone folks could clarify other valid issues more than the WC7 topic.
