Hi All,

Can anyone tell me if and where I can change the size of the wcs icon in the modelling display? And also, the size of the wcs handles (after double click for wcs dynamics). I have two workstations, and on one workstation the icon/handles are very small.I checked all settings and to me they seem to be the same on both workstations.
I searched everywhere, this forum, settings, nx help, preferences, but can't find it.

Thanks in advance

Preferences -> Visualisation -> View/Screen (TAB), then click on Cailbrate. Increase the size of the circle (drag sliders down & right equally then apply). Repeat until WCS is the size you like.

Is one of your workstations running Windows XP and the other Windows 7? There is a problem (although Microsoft doesn't think so) with Windows 7 and how it 'reports' what the resolution of your display has been set to, which NX needs to know so as to control the size of any on-screen, non-geometric objects, such as CSYS's, points, cone-heads, etc.

BTW, Tony is correct in that using the 'calibrate' dialog in Preferences is the proper place to adjust the size of these on-screen, non-geometric objects, but if you're running Windows 7 and you select the 'Reset to System Defaults' button on this dialog the display will be set to almost exactly HALF the scale that it was designed to be set to. To overcome this problem you will need to manually adjust the apparent size of the 'circle' to be approximately 2 Inches or 5 Centimeters.

Note that this issue has been resolved (we changed our code) so that if you're running NX on Windows 7 you will get the proper sized display. This fix will be in the NX 7.5.4.x release as well as the next full release of NX.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

John, wasn't there a ENV variable that one could set for this option ???

Not that I'm aware of, however there is a Customer Default setting which will control the 'relative' size of a Datum CSYS but this has NO effect on any of the other on-screen, non-geometric objects.

Thanks all, I changed the size via calibrate.

@John: Indeed, the problem workstation is running win7 64 bit, the good one is XP 32 bit....

The relative datum csys size can also be changed in the csys dialog
(default is 20 I think, rather big).
