I'm considering using Teflon as a support block pressed against a spinning cylinder in a roll forming machine. Currently it uses a steel roller, but it is a nuisance and expensive to replace the bearings, the roller, as well as the fact that the design is poor causing leaks in the hydraulic cylinders. I need to know how to determine what the wear would be on the block of teflon given the wear factor, the speed of the spinning cylinder, and the compressive load.
