Hello Everybody:
I am searching for the best web based software package to demonstrate assembly and functionality of our products (modelled in proe) using an interactive 3d viewer. The limitations I have found so far in the products I have reviewed are slow rendering of large assemblies and inability to interact with assembly parts to demonstrate functionality. If anyone has some similar experience to share, I would be grateful. Thanks

Believe it or not... PTC'c Pro/Collaborate(free with maintenance) is an excellent demo tool... the other end just has to install the free Productview light application and they can see the model in realtime...

We use this to Demo the Pro/E quite often, to places that are far away... or if we want to get groups of people together from geographically different areas to review models...

Hi

I had simular problem as you have, mine was that our sales guy wanted to show off proe models, but he did not have proe or know how to use it. I had a software guy here create a internal web page with a free shareware viewer listed below.

What you have to do is save a copy of the part or top level assy as VRML (*.wrl) file in known folder and location. Once you have done this run the viewer and then open one of the .wrl files you created.

My co-worker (software programmer) wrote a little program to tree out all the files and access them buy picking them on the screen, which you can not do with this viewer as is, but anyone can run this if they have access to the files.

Thanks,

Toff
