Dear Experts,

In welding fatigue, does anyone know what the difference is between FAT100 and FAT225 apart from the stress at notch being 100MPa and 225MPa respectively?
What criteria have to be followed to determine which one to use?

Are there any good sources explaining the different FAT constellations?
I am having difficulty passing a weld hotspot using FAT100 criterion with a target of 300,000 cycles to beat.
It would pass with FAT225 but I don’t want to use this without any good explanation as to why a particular criterion was used etc.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards
Ed
