I have a 1/2" sch 40 pipe going through a pipe cap with a 7/8" dia hole. This leaves a bit of space between the two. I need to add a weld bead in the assembly, but cannot figure it out. I am new to SolidWorks. Anyone have any sug. on this or a site that can show me how?

Thanks

You cannot currently add a weld bead across a gap between components. You will need to add a sweep (as a feature or separate part) if you need to represent the weld.

An alternative is to cheat and either enlarge the pipe or decrease the hole to create a size for size fit and then use the Weld Bead.

I don't spend any time on welds. I just leave the gap and call out the weld on the dwg as a note and symbol.

Normally I do the same, but this was a very specisifc weld that had to be air tight & I wanted make sure that my guys saw it. I used a pofile revolve to mimic a weld.

Thanks to all.
