Good Day,

I would like to ask if I can use a different WPS for weld repair as per ASME Sec IX QW-202.3 or QW-200.4?

Example:
WPS 1 (Original Weld)Process: GTAW+FCAW (BM Range= 5~38)
WPS 2 (Repair) Process: SMAW w/ back gouging (BM Range= 38 max)

No PWHT & Impact Test requirement

Thanks,

Yes. Specific use of a qualified WPS is not mandated by Section IX, only the process for qualification. Use of one or more WPS's for a repair is left up to the repair organization.
