welder qualification for D1.1

Hi all

My question is , can I use a WPS that is qualified based on Section 9 for welder qualification that I want to be qualified base on D1.1 , (Att: mechanical tests meet D1.1 criteria)

I know based on paragraph 4.22 I should use D1.1 procedure for welder qualification however I heard if we have permission from welding engineer ,we can use section 9 procedure for welder qualification on D1.1

Yes, with the permission of the engineer. In D1.1 2008, the applicable section is 4.1.1.2 - WPS qualification to other standards.
