How do you read the weld symbol in a drawing, If 'a' or 'z' is not mentioned before dimension value, I am looking at one drawing from European country.

Please post/attach a sketch of that symbol - I'll be glad to help figure it out.

You guess.

Or you call the drawing's creator and say "Your weld symbols are not complete. What do you want?"

Hello. Can anyone help me with understanding resistance spot welding designation on the pic?

I assume that digits 1 and 2 in boxes are part numbers being connected.
(1 x 2)-20 probably mean number of spots and distance between them.

What "SA, FB" and stuff in the table means here? Any standards to look?

(fragment is from Korean auto manufacturer drawing dated 2001)

Thanks.

Looks like:
Spot weld (so no effective side
(1x2) spot weld size
-20 weld pitch
<1> <2> are likely references to specific weld procedures, separate reference.
Not sure about the SA & FB, the later might be a finish - it's in the correct place.

Those in the key don't make much sense out of context.

Quantity = 18 LH (left hand 2 metal thickness spot welds) and (or maybe?) 18x RH (right hand 2 metal thickness spot welds) for the final assemblies.

Is the sketch reproduced, there are no 3 metal thickness spot welds, nor any 4 metal thickness spot welds. They would be a circle around a cross, or a square around a cross.

(Imagine a sheet of metal, folded back over itself at one side. Then a second sheet of metal is inserted into that fold so you have 3x sheets of metal total. Press the spot weld machine onto the top of the 3x folded sheets and weld the stack into a single door or fender assembly edge. )
