Good afternoon,

I want to know the welding symbols and annotations that must be put on a plane that has some bolts welded on it. I have seen it called resistance welding. I attach an image.

Thanks

This is what I've seen:

Typical... would be for all headed studs.

I have seen this: RSW (Resistance Spot Welding) that can be put in that place but I don't know if it is necessary, since it already has the symbol.

This is different than spot welding that I've encountered.

Stud welding typically uses a weld-stud gun. Spot welding typically uses a spot welder.

I understand that the symbol is valid for both, and also the RSW annotation

Would you not also include an "all around" symbol? What is preventing them from delivering with just a simple 'tack'?

Weld studs are full contact welds. There is no "around" to them. They are, in effect, a threaded stick weld.

Typically as part of weld qualification test studs are welded and are hammered 90 degrees and are expected to not fail in the weld.

Typ. is not the approved (ASME Y14.38-2019) abbreviation for Typical. It should be 'TYP'.
Also, TYP has been suggested to not be used for repetitive callouts but rather a value with an X; ie 24X.

Stud welding uses a dedicated tool tool to apply specially designed studs made to be used with the tool for the purpose of stud welding.

It is not the same as resistance spot welding.

It does not use the same symbol as resistance spot welds.

It is not the same as taking a bolt, or a stud, or a length of threaded rod and welding it to something with some other type of weld.

Depending on size the process is either:

Arc stud welding: or
Capacitive discharge stud welding:
