Hi
Our company has welded titanium alloys with TIG but now when we have big welds (a15, a20, V25 and so on...) I have wondered it would be so much faster to weld it MIG. I found something with google but nothing very useful.
So I need a little help to get started. Do anyone has experience with MIG welding titanium? What kind of welding parameters you have used? Of course when traveling speed is faster the gas shielding is more difficult to set. I think the gas is the as in TIG? Anything else I should know before starting welding tests? Products are grade 2 and plates are mainly 15 - 25 mm thickness.
Thanks,
Joni K, IWE
