All ,

When you specify the submersible well pump setting , what is the reference point for this setting , Is it the intake of the pump , the bottom of the motor , or the first section of the column pipe ???

Its usually the top of the pump, but it doesn't really matter which as long as the spec is clear which as to where you are measuring from.

Reference for total depth is to bottom of motor. Reference for head requirement is to the water level while pumping max flow.

My advice based on this posting and your previous posting re- installation and operation is to get the pump supplier or a qualified water well engineer involved in lieu of posting a number of questions all linked to the same installation.

The "Well setting" should be the intake of the pump as this is the point at which the yield has been calculated.
