We have two Carbon steel Towers (ASME VIII Div.1) is in Wet H2S service and caustic service respectively. The vessels will be PWHT'ed.

Do we need to do PWHT for the carbon steel internals? These internals are not pressure part, do we need to take care of the caustic cracking or H2S cracking?

Assess the manufacturing and attachment methods of the internals along with the operational consequences of fractured internals and determine whether the risk requires mitigation measures over and above those that have already been deployed.

Most companies in the world are applying the scope in NACE SP0472-2008, para.1.3. while some companies want to apply the PWHT for all welded internals (CS and LAS).
