Hi Everyone,

Has anyone got any experience of using oil wetting agents to prevent water from stripping out from oil/crude and hence preventing MIC? Any references is well-appreciated.

The next guy down the line may not appreciate the added difficulty of stripping the chemically emulsified water. There are additives that will prevent microbial growth without emulsifying the water. Amerstat 25 from Drew Marine comes to mind.

What make you believe that some microorganisms initiating MIC do not also come from the oil? especially crude one!

* Finding a solution is great * Knowing how to implement it is fantastic * Believing it is the only one and best is naive ?

Microbes tend to live at the interface if of the oil and water. They eat the oil but can't live in it. Remove the interface and you won't get microbes.
