We are in the process of upgrading.
Does CREO 3 perform better than WF 4 with the same hardware?

No.

While a technically correct answer, I will add it depends on what hardware you had for WF4.
If you had 32-bit OS, 4GB memory and a marginal graphics card with 512MB/1GB, Creo 3 will not run to your satisfaction.
IF you had a 64-bit OS, 16+GB memory and a high end Nvidia graphics card with 3/4GB, Creo 3 will only seem a little bit slower, if at all.

Thanks to both of you.
I was once led to believe that wf4 could not use all CPU cores whilst creo 3 makes use of multiple cores.
I reasoned out that provided the hardware is decent (Fujistu with xeon @ 2.8Ghz with Quadro k2000) creo would perform better on the same hardware, compared to wf4.

There is very little in any version that uses multiple processor cores. Assembly retrieval can open one part per core but this is usually speed limited by hard disk or network speed so it makes no difference. Regenning a part only runs on one core. FEA uses multiple cores and this can really help.

i run wf3 at the job and test creo 3.0/ 4.0 at home and i prefer the old UI.
