what are A&F, DCS and/or SCADA systems ?

I am not sure what the first one is, but DCS = Distributed Control Systems and SCADA = Systems Control & Data Acquisition. I have typically seen DCS in generation facilities and some large industrial & SCADA in utililty applications. I am no expert, but both are similar in my mind and sometimes use the same protocols & methods. There are differences though (even on the protocols used).
