My company wants to buy a CNC machine. We have an ofer for a Cincinnati CFV 1050 with 3 options:
1/ Siemens Sinumerik 810D, or
2/ GE Fanuc 18i-MB, or
3/ Heidenhain iTNC 530
I don't know the diferences among them to take a decisition. We are mold makers.

what do you think would be better?

Siemens sinumeric is the fastest of these controls but Fanuc is common as dirt and there are more people trained in its use. The Siemens support in Spain should be good I believe Siemens is preferred in Europe.

Beware of FANUC controllers sold in one country and used in another, have a friend who bought one via a dealer in Taiwan, a brand new VMC (Dah Li Brand) and when he had a problem here (Peru) he was asked to pay an extra 10K to the FANUC people in order to get service here because they said the machine only had garantee in Taiwan and in the States.

Finally they settled to cover the costs of the technitian to come over, they sent some one from Philipines he came reset a thermal switch which was hidden in a secondary control box and they had to pay almost 8K US$ for expenses of the travelling visitor.

Maybe you can get better service with the German suppliers.

Cheers
