Hey Folks,

What does that mean when vendor mentioned "No Land and with 3/16" Gap" to describe the long seam preparation?

Thanks,

zjliang;
This terminology applies to a butt weld joint. Here is my layman's definition; the ends of the metal to be joined in a long seam are prepared similar to a "knife edge" and are separated at the sharp edge (ID surface) by no more than 3/16" distance.

...with a 3/16 inch gap between the adjacent feathered edges. Should also state the tolerances on that dimension.
