What grade of steel is used in fire tube boilers?

I'm just curious. I know a colleague who has a kiln that operates at 2200 deg F. He uses carbon steel carts on tracks to load and unload the kiln (the carts stay in the kiln during firing). He rebuilds carts non-stop because of heat damage. There's got to be a better grade of steel he can use.

Try using cart made of cast iron, we have one on smelting plant with temp. up to 3000 F

High nickel superalloys (Hastelloy, Inconel, etc.) come in many "flavors", and probably there is one that could work. If you had said 1600-1800 °F, I would be sure, but not so sure at 2200 °F. Inconel 718 comes to mind, as it is used in gas turbine work. There are also cobalt based superalloys that may work. However, your friend could probably build DOZENS of mild steel carts for the cost of 1 superalloy cart.
