...you'll find a short description of 'Modular design' which was introduced in NX 8.0. Basically it's a way of breaking-up a complex model into separate part files which can be worked on by different people simultaneously and then later merging these separate parts files back into a single finished model, yet will be structured as if all of the work had been done in that single part file.
Note that for NX 9.0 we've taken many of the approaches learned with NX 8.0 and NX 8.5 and have provided some additional tools which will allow a single user to leverage some of the advantages of 'Modular Design', such as more efficient update, better organization of their models, etc, within a single part file. This is not to replace the idea of multiple people working simultaneously on the same design, but rather is an attempt to provide some the same benefits in a 'single part - single user' scenario.
