Hi All,

I have an assembly which fails to load or sometimes loads with messages saying it could not load some parts as it could not find them..

But the same assembly when I turn off the load interpart data option in the load option dialogue , opens without any complaints..

I even query for those missing parts in teamcenter database, but they are not available.. This is a situation for the assemblies which were migrated from native.. When I queried for a similar situation in GTAC site, they said Part Clean up should take out these GHOST references.. but it does not clean up 100%.

These parts are not found in information>>part>>loaded parts in native..

Is there any advantage of having Load Interpart Data option check on as default? As when the components are made workpart, the feature data loads into the session..

Thoughts please

It shouldn't fail, as such but offer a warning message. Check first that if you're searching directories in your load options that those directories don't contain double up copies of the same file name. If you're sure it is safe to do so then make sure that "allow substitution" is turn on. It could just be that a file was moved or renamed on the system that is causing the warning and if it has any specific file references then use those to track down the problem.

As I understand the load interpart setting by exception to partial loading it will attempt to access geometry that it needs to from other files on the system to refresh things like wave linked geometry that could otherwise become out of date. Many people have it turned off since keeping track of a lot of part interdependencies at once is both memory hungry and somewhat tricky for the user to exercise control over in terms of keeping track of what you do or do not intend to occur.
