Hi,
I'm trying to figure out what is the difference between API-5L PSL1 and PSL2. Now that IHS won't allow you to save nor print the document, I have to read it on line and I find it very difficult to flip pages to read. I have not been able to figure out what is the key difference between the two specifications. I would appreciate it if some one can give me a quick run down or direct me to a page where I can read up on it. Thanks.

I just found a thread 809-43564 that asked the same question in the past but did not have much of a respond.

Is there a quality difference between the two? Is one better for sour service than the other?

In the 43rd edition (2004) look at Appendix J entitled "Summary of differences between PSL 1 and PSL 2". If you are using ISO 3183 2007 (the new API 5L!!!) then some explanation is given in the Introduction. Regarding sour service, look at Annex H of ISO 3183 2007, it is entitled "PSL 2 pipe ordered for sour service".

Thank you Steve for the tip. I'd review those sections tomorrow in detail.
