Hello Everyone,

General questions, probably more a home installation questions.

What is the object in the attachment called? In Germany it mainly used for the transition from the back of an installation (behind a wall) to the front installation (front of the wall). The star shape within the male thread allows a screwing of the fitting from the front. In German it is called a "Edelstahl Hahnverlängerung". If I would do the direct translation it would be a faucet extender, however this seems to be wrong.

Is something similar used in the United States? what would it be called?

Best regards,

JF

To a ChE, the glass is always full - 1/2 air and 1/2 water.

file name looks strange ~( ends jpeg) instead of jpg and has ?. Save as something simple and repost as a .jpg

Extension connector.

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)

Mount extension which screws into a wall mounting.

Stainless Steel Male Faucet Extension.

This type of faucet extension is rarely used in the United States. Possibly used on extremely expensive imported faucet models.

The US practice is to use stub outs:
