I am struggling to find a reference on how to design the type of foundation shown in the attached file. I found a document published by the army and air force calling it a thickened slab on the ground, while design of reinforced concrete foundation book published by P.C Varghese calls it a basement floor with flat slab without showing how to design it. Using metric units makes the army and air force reference difficult to use, and their drawings show the columns footings not attached to the slab on ground so it might not be valid for my case.

Do you know another reference on the design of this type of foundation ?

Is that a single face elevation of a post or a cross section of a wall???

Jim

It's a single face elevation of a column.

You may model the foundation with winkler springs and perform FEM analysis.

There are tutorials and worked examples which you may watch on U -TUBE.

Thank you HTURKAK for replying. The book looks interesting. I will get into it later today.
